6.16.2011: FYI: Scholarships are still available for Latino students! Please see requirements and contact information below...
The Latin American Coalition is developing an initiative to educate college access options for undocumented high school students in Charlotte. We've been working with a local private university to secure admission and partial to full scholarships for highly qualified Latino students, regardless of status. The scholarships range from $8,500 to $17,000 (which covers all of tuition and a lap top).
Applications are open to students from all over NC. If a student is particularly well qualified, he or she may be able to get room and board paid for as well.
The requirements (minimum) are 3.5 GPA and 1100 SAT and a 3.8 GPA is minimum for full scholarships. If he or she is willing to study computer science or information systems, an additional $5,000 may be available. If interested, please send an email to jgeyer@latinamericancoalition.org
