Advisory Panel
In 1978, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation created a State Advisory Panel, which it views as a vital means of increasing the Foundation's awareness of funding opportunities in the state. Panel members serve three-year terms, and more than 100 people from across the state have now served on the Advisory Panel. Panel members are asked for their ideas and suggestions in regard to the Foundation's mandate to make grants which benefit the people of North Carolina. In addition, the Board has delegated to the Advisory Panel the responsibility of selecting recipients for the Nancy Susan Reynolds Awards. The Panel has no authority to make grants, nor does it share any powers or duties of the Board of Trustees.
