Instructions for Applying Online
GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION
TO THE Z. SMITH REYNOLDS FOUNDATION, INC.
USING THE MICROEDGE IGAM MODULE
Application Deadlines - February 1 and August 15, 2008
Please read the “Grant Application Guidelines”, the “Frequently Asked Questions” and the "What We Fund" section of our web page before submitting an application.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING A GRANT APPLICATION ONLINE:
Before clicking on the IGAM link at the bottom of this page, please read the following carefully:
When you access the IGAM program, you will be asked to answer two questions:
(1) Will the project/program for which you are requesting funds from ZSR operate exclusively in the State of North Carolina?
(2) Is your organization tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or a governmental unit?
You must answer "yes" to both of these questions to be eligible to apply for a grant from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
When you click on the IGAM link below, you will be asked to sign in and provide the following information:
Your E-Mail Address (which will be used as your account ID and to correspond with you)
If you are a new applicant, click the New Applicant box, then click "Continue"
If you are a Returning Online Applicant, enter your password and then click "Continue"
New online applicants will be asked to create an Applicant Account (later referred to as MY ACCOUNT-NOTE: YOU MUST CREATE AN ACCOUNT OR YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE SAVED). Please enter:
Your E-Mail Address (the one you used to sign in
Password (minimum of 5 characters)
Confirm password
Click "Create Account"
Be sure to write down the E-mail address and the password that you used to create this account so that you or others in your organization can access this account in the future. After you apply online once, you will be able to view your previous submissions to the Foundation in your MY ACCOUNT file for 5 years.
After creating an account, you will be able to access the IGAM Grant Application Form.
The Application Form consists of multiple sections and you MUST complete all sections.
Attachments must be uploaded from your computer. Please read the instructions carefully and provide all of the information requested, including all financial information, a copy of your federal tax-exempt certification under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including a determination as to the organization’s status as a publicly-supported organization, and any pending reporting forms.
NOTE: It is strongly suggested that you print a hard copy of the form before you submit your application so that you can gather all the information needed. Click "Printer Friendly Version" at the top of the screen to print regular pages. To print the attachments, click on the page number at the top of the screen; when it opens, print. (You can switch from page to page by clicking on the page numbers at the top of the screen).
It is recommended that you save your application as a Word document on your computer and then cut and paste your answers into the online application system.
You do not have to complete all of the form at once. You can save the form at any time (see bottom of each page) and work on it at your convenience. To access the form again, go to www.zsr.org, click on Forms & Publications, and then click to link to the online application system. Enter your e-mail address, sign in as a Returning Applicant, enter your password, and then find the incomplete application in MY ACCOUNT. Click on the form title to open the application form and continue filling in the form.
Please submit your application sufficiently ahead of the deadline to allow for any unexpected complications.
When you are satisfied that your application is complete, click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the last page.
SUBMIT THE APPLICATION ONE TIME ONLY. DO NOT SUBMIT DUPLICATE APPLICATIONS; THEY WILL BE REJECTED.
An automated e-mail will be sent to you when we retrieve your application (which may not always be the same day that you submit it; however, if you do not receive an e-mail response within three days, please contact us). We will also acknowledge your application by e-mail or in writing and request any additional information needed.
NOTE: In some cases, the Foundation's e-mail addresses might be rejected as spam. If your settings do not allow the Foundation's e-mails to be received, please add both barbaram@zsr.org and info@zsr.org to your list of allowed contacts.
