To be eligible for this award, nominees must be living residents of North Carolina and should be persons who perform valuable public service, predominately at the community level. Nominees may be volunteers or paid, full-time employees of the organizations through which their service is rendered. The awards are intended for individuals; however, in the case of joint or collaborative efforts, an award may be shared by more than one recipient. Committees or organizations are not eligible. Nominations should not include traditional business or civic leaders, or persons who have already received significant public recognition through awards and/or media attention.
Nominations may be made by anyone except the nominee. Anonymous nominations will not be accepted. Each nomination must include three references who may be contacted for further information about the nominee.
All nominations must be submitted online by June 1 at 11:59pm or postmarked no later than June 1.
