The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation and its new executive director visited Western North Carolina this week as part of a statewide tour to learn how to make communities stronger.
Trustees and staff met Thursday with local leaders at UNC Asheville to discuss trends, challenges and opportunities for the region. Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer and UNC Asheville Chancellor Mary Grant were among those in attendance.
The "Mo Wants to Know Tour" is part of the foundation’s yearlong assessment to better understand the state’s shifting landscape and determine how it can best respond to these changes, the agency reported in a statement. Its new executive director, Maurice "Mo" Green, is also introducing himself to the public.
