Before coming to Green Opportunities (GO), Ernest Robbs was unsure of the life path he was on. Getting involved with GO gave him the skills, training and hope and he needed to embark on a promising career and a new beginning.
GO is a community-based development organization dedicated to improving lives, communities and the health of the planet through innovative green collar job training and placement programs. It is committed to empowering low-income neighborhoods in Asheville by preparing residents for well-paying jobs through the completion of hands-on projects that make these neighborhoods safer and more environmentally sustainable. GO also links residents to other jobs and community resources. The organization takes a triple-bottom line approach to building sustainable communities by addressing the economy, the environment, and social justice.
