VIDEO: Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture

In 2000, Carol Coulter and a small group of women who were interested in farming, came together to explore the idea of starting their own farming businesses. Through informal meetings, this group began learning the ropes of the industry as well as learning from each other. As more women started joining, eventually they decided to create their own organization. Hence, Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture was born.

The mission of Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture is to provide education and connect resources to female farmers and their families, so that they can grow healthy food for the community. They work across a nine-county region, providing a range of supports including hosting workshops to one-on-one assistance.
