About Nancy Susan Reynolds (1910-1985)
Nancy was a founding member, president, and life-time trustee of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
With Nancy Susan Reynolds' death in 1985, Foundation trustees established the Nancy Susan Reynolds Awards for exemplary and often unsung leadership in communities throughout North Carolina. From 1986-2010, the Nancy Susan Reynolds Awards were presented annually to three individuals in one of three categories – race relations, advocacy and personal service. Recipients were unsung heroes who made an impact in North Carolina communities.
Nancy was a founding member, president, and life-time trustee of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
Smith helped create the Nancy Susan Reynolds Awards as a memorial to his mother.
